Inspiration Monday

Our inspiration from Two Birds today is Rachel Bilson. Love her in the comedy-drama television series "Hart of Dixie" - it's a fish-out-of-water story of a big-city doctor trapped in a small town with an unfamiliar culture.

With this outfit, so far from perfect, Rachel is distorting all of her bodily proportions - increasing her hips and shortening her legs. Sorry...Who wants short legs- even if you are a big TV star?

I like her things separately (especially vest and boots), but not together. So my version of a winter outfit.

Inspiration Monday

This week over at Two Birds our inspiration is...who knows? call her Jane Doe.

Love this low key casual and comfy winter look.

I think every women has worn something similar - a huge men's sweater that belonged to her husband, brother or father. Unfortunately, my hubby wears t-shirts all year long and hates long sleeves!  So I put on my own cable knit sweater , but it's not over-sized.

When I was young I wanted to be classically elegant, but right now, when I'm twice as old, I'm happy going with a grungy look.

Today's inspiration over at Two Birds is Olivia Palermo, who wore sleek leather pants with a chunky sweater, dark sunglasses, and an over sized croc print bag. She livened up her mainly dark outfit with some brightly decorated ankle strap heels.
So I tried to do the same - a dark outfit with bright heels.
My shoes proved to be too bright for my taste , more like a crow's feet, but anyway I decided to keep them on. Maybe if the pants were shorter, this look would be better.

I'm wearing a boyfriend jeans, a sweater and a shirt. It seems like a reasonable thing to do when you're wanted to be comfy and still maintain a bit of style.

For this inspiration Monday photo from Two Birds is Sienna Miller.
Her knee-length Burberry leopard-print silk dress could have been in danger of looking a little frumpy, but the actress added a fluffy cream cardigan, which gave here a more boho and weather-appropriate look. Then she polished her outfit with complimentary black tights and black Mary Jane heels. Sienna pulled her hair back into a high bun and brightened up her face with a bright red lipstick.

Today was cold enough for me to use my oldest winter jacket. I made it about fifteen years ago and had been really sick of wearing this jacket for such a long time. I think this "sheep" rested in my closet for the last four years.

it's time for another boots purchase

After a few weeks of internet stalking I finally found two pair of boots. I couldn't decide which one I liked more and losing my mind.

You know the rule: DON’T wear sheer tights. It’s not summer, so we shouldn't be seeing your legs.

I heard fashion editors give Katie Holmes a big NO!, but everyone liked Miranda Kerr wearing sheer tights shorts and skirts. What heck are the differences between those two celebrities?.. One of them is being a big style icon?

Today is Inspiration Monday. I am linking up with Two Birds for this challenge. Today our inspiration is
Miranda Kerr. Her killer off-duty outfits are applauded by countless style blogs for their mix of sex appeal, sportiness, and elegance. A "Glamour" fashion editor said, " this is one of her genius outfit ideas: dress up a denim skirt with a blazer and you need to try it on!"
Personally, I like the first look more than the second one.

But anyway...oops! I don't own a jean skirt but I have some denim shorts. So my outfit looked more like this one.

I wore a jacket with a fur vest instead of a coat.

Yesterday's outfit was for surprise 50th birthday party for our good friend. He just thought he came for a Bible study. He was completely surprised.
