The Art of Layering

Making the perfect layered outfit is a little bit like preparing a delicious dish - there are multiple ingredients involved, and you have to get the proportions just right.
So for amazing layering results we need the same “recipes”, with the right  ingredients and the right proportions.
Today, for 'Take one, pass it on challenge' (if you’re wondering what it is, read about the remix challenge here), I tried to prepare a complicated 'dish' with a trench coat. + quilted vest + leopard cardigan, which I added under a plaid button down shirt. This clothing not only keep me warm,  but also display the contrasting prints and textures.
I liked the result...I hope you like it too!

What I'm Wearing:
trench coat - Old Navy, vest - thrifted, shirt - JCPenney, cardigan -August Silk, jeans - Loft, hat & gloves - H&M,  necklace - J Crew, boots - UGG, purse - - Nine West

I found that for some reason I couldn't reply to a comment on my own blog. My reply button just disappeared. I want to let you know that I always appreciate the time out of your day for visiting my blog and every comment that you leave here. I can't thank you enough,

Alena you hit the layering nail on the head with these looks!! I'm not the best at layering but often do it anyway because of the cold weather!!

I love how you expertly mixed patters, there is a lot going on, but it isn't too much!

Thank you for joining the #reasonstodress linkup and I hope to have you back today!
