It's kind of funny. I wore the Birkenstock type of sandals for about seventeen years. I tried them on at my first trip to Germany and fell in love with them; they are very comfy, especially for long trips.
During that time two pairs were worn to tatters. The last one fell apart last year, just as they became extremely popular in the fashion blogs.

Yesterday, on a 70% off sale, I bought a new pair for me.
Now, during my upcoming trip to San Diego, it'll be time to try them in a new way and wear them with socks:)) or even more...with socks and cut off jeans that stayed in a box in the garage since the 80s. Hillbilly style!
